|Griffin was named to the All-Colonial Athletic Association third team after rushing for 843 yards and a career high-tying five touchdowns in his only season at Massachusetts of the FCS in 2010. That performance came after he set career bests with 207 rushes, 947 yards, five rushing scores, 25 catches and 178 receiving yards in his junior year in 2009, when he earned first-team All-CAA honors with conference rival Northeastern. Griffin had the two best rushing days of his career in 2009, running for 200 yards against Towson and 154 versus Rhode Island. He split time in UMass' backfield with Jonathan Hernandez as a senior. Griffin was a top sprinter and long jumper on the track & field team in his freshman season at Northeastern in 2007, and in 2008, the Huskies utilized that speed by making him a kickoff returner. Griffin returned 21 kicks for 414 yards, and average of 19.7 per return. Griffin will likely go undrafted due to a lack of experience against quality programs, but he did play well in his only career game versus a Top 25 team. On Sept. 18 at No. 20 Michigan, Griffin rushed 17 times for 96 yards as the Minutemen nearly pulled off an upset before falling 42-37.
